And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God [was] with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
En Salomo die seun van Dawid is in sy koninkryk bevestig, en die HERE sy God was met hom, en het hom buitengewoon groot gemaak.

Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.
Toe het Salomo met die hele Israel gespreek, met die kapteins van duisende en van honderde, en met die regters, en met elke vorste in die hele Israel, die hoofde van die vaders.

So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that [was] at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
So het Salomo, en die hele vergadering met hom, dan na die hoogte wat in Gibeon was, gegaan; want daar was die tabernakel van die vergadering van God, wat Moses die dienaar van die HERE in die wildernis gemaak het.

But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjathjearim to [the place which] David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
Maar die ark van God het Dawid uit Kirjat-Jeárim opgebring na die plek wat Dawid daarvoor berei het: want hy het ’n tent daarvoor in Jérusalem opgeslaan.

Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the LORD: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.
Bowendien was die koperaltaar, wat Besáleël die seun van Uri, die seun van Hur, gemaak het, daar voor die tabernakel van die HERE: en Salomo en die vergadering het dit gesoek.

And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which [was] at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
En Salomo het daar opgegaan na die koperaltaar voor die HERE, wat by die tabernakel van die vergadering was, en ‚'n duisend brandoffers daarop geoffer.

In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.
In daardie nag het God aan Salomo verskyn, en tot hom gesê, Vra wat ek jou moet gee.

And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.
En Salomo het tot God gesê, U het aan Dawid my vader groot barmhartigheid bewys, en het my in sy plek as koning gemaak.

Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
Nou, o HERE God, laat u belofte aan Dawid my vader bevestig word: want U het my as koning gemaak oor ‚'n volk soos die stof van die aarde in menigte.

Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, [that is so] great?
Gee my nou wysheid en kennis, dat ek voor hierdie volk mag uitgaan en ingaan: want wie kan hierdie u volk, wat so groot is, oordeel?

And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
En God het tot Salomo gesê, Omdat dit in jou hart was, en jy nie rykdom, of goed, of eer, of die lewe van jou vyande gevra het nie, en ook nie lank lewe gevra het nie; maar wysheid en kennis vir jouself gevra het, dat jy my volk mag oordeel, waaroor ek jou as koning gemaak het:

Wisdom and knowledge [is] granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that [have been] before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
Wysheid en kennis is aan jou gegee; en ek sal jou rykdom, en goed, en eer gee, soos geen van die konings gehad het wat voor jou was nie, en ook ná jou sal niemand so iets hê nie.

Then Solomon came [from his journey] to the high place that [was] at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.
Toe het Salomo van sy reis na die hoogte wat in Gibeon was by Jérusalem gekom, van voor die tabernakel van die vergadering, en het oor Israel geregeer.

And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
En Salomo het strydwaens en ruiters bymekaargemaak: en hy het ’n duisend en vierhonderd strydwaens, en twaalf duisend ruiters gehad, wat hy in die strydwa-stede, en by die koning in Jérusalem, geplaas het.

And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem [as plenteous] as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that [are] in the vale for abundance.
En die koning het silwer en goud in Jérusalem soos klippe gemaak, en seders soos die wildebome wat in die laagland is in menigte gemaak.

And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
En Salomo het perde uit Egipte, en linnegarings uitgebring: die koning se handelaars het die linnegarings teen ‚'n prys ontvang.

And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred [shekels] of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out [horses] for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.
En hulle het en uitgebring uit Egipte ’n strydwa vir seshonderd sikkels silwer, en ’n perd vir ’n honderd en vyftig: en so het hulle vir al die konings van die Hetiete, en vir die konings van Sírië, deur hulle middele uitgebring.
