1
And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call [them] to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,
En dit sal gebeur, wanneer al hierdie dinge oor jou kom, die seën en die vloek, wat ek voor jou gestel het, en jy dit in jou hart terugroep onder al die nasies, waarheen die HERE jou God jou verdrywe het,

And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;
En jy jou tot die HERE jou God wend, en na sy stem luister volgens alles wat ek jou vandag beveel, jy en jou kinders, met jou hele hart, en met jou hele siel;

That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.
Dat die HERE jou God jou gevangenes sal terugbring, en Hom oor jou ontferm, en jou weer bymekaarmaak uit al die volke, waarheen die HERE jou God jou verstrooi het.

If [any] of thine be driven out unto the outmost [parts] of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:
As enige van jou uitgedrywes is tot by die uiterste dele van die hemel, daarvandaan sal die HERE jou God jou bymekaarmaak, en daarvandaan sal Hy jou haal:

And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.
En die HERE jou God sal jou in die land bring wat jou vaders besit het, en jy moet dit besit; en Hy sal jou goed doen, en jou vermeerder bo jou vaders.

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
En die HERE jou God sal jou hart, en die hart van jou saad, besny, om die HERE jou God lief te hê met jou hele hart, en met jou hele siel, dat jy mag lewe.

And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.
En die HERE jou God sal al hierdie vervloekinge op jou vyande sit, en op hulle wat jou haat, wat jou vervolg het.
8
And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.
En jy moet terugkeer, en na die stem van die HERE luister, en al sy gebooie doen wat ek jou vandag beveel.

And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
En die HERE jou God sal jou oorvloedig maak in elke werk van jou hand, in die vrug van jou skoot, en in die vrug van jou vee, en in die vrug van jou land, tot die goeie: want die HERE sal Hom weer oor jou verheug tot die goeie, soos Hy Hom oor jou vaders verheug het:

If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, [and] if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
As jy na die stem van die HERE jou God luister, om sy gebooie en sy insettinge te onderhou wat in hierdie boek van die wet geskrywe is, en as jy jou tot die HERE jou God wend met jou hele hart, en met jou hele siel.
11
For this commandment which I command thee this day, it [is] not hidden from thee, neither [is] it far off.
Want hierdie gebod wat ek jou vandag beveel, is nie te wonderlik vir jou nie, en dit is nie ver nie.
12
It [is] not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Dit is nie in die hemel nie, dat jy sou sê, Wie sal vir ons na die hemel opgaan, en dit vir ons haal, dat ons dit mag hoor, en dit doen?

Neither [is] it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
En dit is nie oorkant die see nie, dat jy sou sê, Wie sal vir ons oorkant die see gaan, en dit vir ons haal, dat ons dit mag hoor, en dit doen?

But the word [is] very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
Maar die woord is baie naby jou, in jou mond, en in jou hart, dat jy dit mag doen.
15
See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
Kyk, ek het vandag voor jou gestel die lewe en die goeie, en die dood en die kwaad;
16
In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
Indat ek jou vandag beveel om die HERE jou God lief te hê, om in sy weë te wandel, en sy gebooie, en sy insettinge, en sy oordele te onderhou, dat jy mag lewe en vermeerder: en die HERE jou God sal jou seën in die land waarheen jy gaan om dit te besit.
17
But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
Maar as jou hart afwyk, sodat jy nie wil luister nie, maar verlei word, en jou voor ander gode neerbuig, en hulle dien;
18
I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, [and that] ye shall not prolong [your] days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
Ek verkondig julle vandag, dat julle sekerlik sal vergaan, en dat julle julle dae nie sal verleng in die land nie, waarheen jy oortrek oor die Jordaan om daar in te gaan om dit te besit.
19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Ek roep die hemel en die aarde vandag as getuies teen julle, dat ek die lewe en die dood voor julle gestel het, die seën en die vloek: kies dan die lewe, dat beide jy en jou saad mag lewe:

That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, [and] that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he [is] thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
Dat jy die HERE jou God mag liefhê, en na sy stem luister, en aan Hom vashou: want Hy is jou lewe, en die lengte van jou dae: dat jy mag woon in die land wat die HERE aan jou vaders, Abraham, Isak, en Jakob, met ’n eed beloof het om aan hulle te gee.
