And this [is] the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand [went] a fiery law for them.
En hy het gesê, Die HERE het van Sinai gekom, en is opgegaan uit Seïr tot hulle; Hy het geskyn van die berg Paran, en Hy het gekom met tienduisende van heiliges: van sy regterhand het ’n vuurige wet vir hulle uitgegaan.

Yea, he loved the people; all his saints [are] in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; [every one] shall receive of thy words.
Ja, Hy het die volke liefgehad; al sy heiliges is in jou hand: en hulle het by jou voete gesit; elkeen sal jou woorde ontvang.

Moses commanded us a law, [even] the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.
Moses het ons ‚'n wet beveel, selfs die erfenis van die vergadering van Jakob.

And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people [and] the tribes of Israel were gathered together.
En hy was koning in Jesurun, toe die hoofde van die volk en die stamme van Israel bymekaar was.

Let Reuben live, and not die; and let [not] his men be few.
Laat Ruben lewe, en nie sterwe nie; en laat sy manne nie min wees nie.

And this [is the blessing] of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help [to him] from his enemies.
En dit is die seën van Juda: en hy het gesê, Hoor, HERE, die stem van Juda, en bring hom tot sy volk: laat sy hande genoeg wees vir hom; en wees ’n hulp teen sy vyande.

And of Levi he said, [Let] thy Thummim and thy Urim [be] with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, [and with] whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;
En van Levi het hy gesê, Laat jou Tummim en jou Urim by jou heilige wees, wat jy by Massa beproef het, en met wie jy by die waters van Meríba getwis het;

Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.
Wat van sy vader en van sy moeder gesê het, Ek het hom nie gesien nie; en hy het sy broers nie erken nie, en sy eie kinders nie geken nie: want hulle het jou woord waargeneem, en jou verbond bewaar.

They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.
Hulle moet Jakob jou oordele leer, en Israel jou wet: hulle moet reukwerk voor jou neus sit, en die hele brandoffer op jou altaar.

Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.
Seën, HERE, sy krag, en neem die werk van sy hande aanneemlik aan: slaan deur die lendene van hulle wat teen hom opstaan, en van hulle wat hom haat, dat hulle nie weer mag opstaan nie.

[And] of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; [and the LORD] shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.
En van Benjamin het hy gesê, Die geliefde van die HERE moet veilig by Hom woon; en die HERE moet hom die hele dag beskut, en hy moet tussen sy skouers woon.

And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD [be] his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
En van Josef het hy gesê, Sy land moet geseënd wees van die HERE, vir die kosbare dinge van die hemel, vir die dou, en vir die diepte wat daaronder lê,

And for the precious fruits [brought forth] by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,
En vir die kosbare vrugte wat deur die son voortgebring word, en vir die kosbare dinge wat deur die maan voortgedruk word,
15
And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,
En vir die hoofdinge van die ou berge, en vir die kosbare dinge van die ewige heuwels,
16
And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and [for] the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let [the blessing] come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him [that was] separated from his brethren.
En vir die kosbare dinge van die aarde en sy volheid, en vir die welbehae van Hom wat in die braambos gewoon het: laat die seën kom op die hoof van Josef, en op die kroon van die hoof van hom wat afgesonder is van sy broers.

His glory [is like] the firstling of his bullock, and his horns [are like] the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they [are] the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they [are] the thousands of Manasseh.
Sy heerlikheid is soos die eersgeborene van sy os, en sy horings is soos die horings van eenhorings: met hulle moet hy die volke stoot tot by die eindes van die aarde: en dit is die tienduisende van Efraim, en dit is die duisende van Manasse.

And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents.
En van Sébulon het hy gesê, Verbly jou, Sébulon, in jou uitgang; en, Issaskar, in jou tente.

They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck [of] the abundance of the seas, and [of] treasures hid in the sand.
Hulle moet die volke tot die berg roep; daar moet hulle offers van geregtigheid offer: want hulle moet die oorvloed van die see suig, en die skatte wat in die sand verborge is.

And of Gad he said, Blessed [be] he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.
En van Gad het hy gesê, Geseënd is hy wat Gad verruim: hy woon soos ’n leeu, en skeur die arm met die kroon van die hoof.

And he provided the first part for himself, because there, [in] a portion of the lawgiver, [was he] seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of the LORD, and his judgments with Israel.
En hy het vir hom die eerste deel voorsien; want daar was die wetgewer se deel verborge; en hy het gekom met die hoofde van die volk, hy het die geregtigheid van die HERE uitgevoer, en sy oordele met Israel.

And of Dan he said, Dan [is] a lion’s whelp: he shall leap from Bashan.
En van Dan het hy gesê, Dan is ’n leeuwelp: hy moet uitspring uit Basan.

And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south.
En van Naftali het hy gesê, O Naftali, versadig met welbehae, en vol van die seën van die HERE: besit jy die weste en die suide.
24
And of Asher he said, [Let] Asher [be] blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.
En van Aser het hy gesê, Laat Aser geseënd wees met kinders; laat hom aangenaam wees vir sy broers, en laat hom sy voet in olie doop.
25
Thy shoes [shall be] iron and brass; and as thy days, [so shall] thy strength [be].
Jou skoene moet yster en koper wees; en soos jou dae, so moet jou krag wees.
26
[There is] none like unto the God of Jeshurun, [who] rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
Daar is niemand soos die God van Jesurun nie, wat op die hemel ry tot jou hulp, en in sy uitnemendheid op die wolke.
27
The eternal God [is thy] refuge, and underneath [are] the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy [them].
Die ewige God is jou toevlug, en onder is die ewige arms: en Hy moet die vyand voor jou uit verdrywe; en sê, Vernietig hulle.

Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob [shall be] upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
Israel moet dan veilig alleen woon: die fontein van Jakob moet wees op ‚'n land van koring en wyn; ook moet sy hemele dou laat drup.
29
Happy [art] thou, O Israel: who [is] like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who [is] the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
Gelukkig is jy, o Israel: wie is soos jy, o volk wat deur die HERE gered is, die skild van jou hulp, en wat die swaard is van jou uitnemendheid! en jou vyande moet aan jou onderworpe wees; en jy moet op hulle hoogtes trap.
