And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
En die HERE het tot Moses gesê, Gaan in na Farao: want ek het sy hart, en die hart van sy dienaars verhard, dat ek hierdie my tekens voor hom mag stel:

And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I [am] the LORD.
En dat jy in die ore van jou seun, en van jou seun se seun mag vertel wat dinge ek in Egipte gedoen het, en my tekens wat ek onder hulle gestel het; dat julle mag weet dat ek die HERE is.

And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
En Moses en Aäron het by Farao ingegaan, en tot hom gesê, So sê die HERE God van die Hebreërs, Hoe lank weier jy om jou voor My te verneder? laat my volk gaan, dat hulle My mag dien.

Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
Anders, as jy weier om my volk te laat gaan, kyk, môre sal ek sprinkane in jou grense bring:

And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
En hulle sal die aangesig van die aarde bedek, dat ‚'n mens die aarde nie kan sien nie: en hulle sal die oorblyfsel eet van dit wat ontkom is, wat vir julle van die hael oorbly, en hulle sal elke boom eet wat vir julle uit die veld uitspruit:

And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
En hulle sal jou huise vul, en die huise van al jou dienaars, en die huise van al die Egiptenaars; wat jou vaders, en jou vaders se vaders nie gesien het nie, van die dag af dat hulle op die aarde was tot hierdie dag. En hy het omgedraai, en van Farao uitgegaan.

And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
En Farao se dienaars het tot hom gesê, Hoe lank sal hierdie man ’n strik vir ons wees? laat die manne gaan, dat hulle die HERE hulle God mag dien: weet jy nog nie dat Egipte vernietig is nie?

And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: [but] who [are] they that shall go?
En Moses en Aäron is weer na Farao gebring: en hy het tot hulle gesê, Gaan, dien die HERE julle God: maar wie is dié wat sal gaan?

And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we [must hold] a feast unto the LORD.
En Moses het gesê, Ons sal gaan met ons jonges en met ons oues, met ons seuns en met ons dogters, met ons kleinvee en met ons beeste sal ons gaan; want ons moet ’n fees vir die HERE hou.

And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look [to it]; for evil [is] before you.
En hy het tot hulle gesê, Laat die HERE so met julle wees, soos ek julle en julle kinders sal laat gaan: kyk, want die kwaad is voor julle.

Not so: go now ye [that are] men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
Nie so nie: gaan nou julle manne, en dien die HERE; want dit is wat julle begeer. En hulle is van Farao se aangesig uitgedrywe.
12
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, [even] all that the hail hath left.
En die HERE het tot Moses gesê, Steek jou hand uit oor die land Egipte vir die sprinkane, dat hulle mag optrek oor die land Egipte, en elke plant van die land eet, selfs al die wat die hael oorgelaat het.

And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all [that] night; [and] when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
En Moses het sy staf uitgesteek oor die land Egipte, en die HERE het ’n oostewind oor die land gebring daardie hele dag, en daardie hele nag; en toe dit môre was, het die oostewind die sprinkane gebring.

And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous [were they]; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
En die sprinkane het opgetrek oor die hele land Egipte, en gerus in al die grense van Egipte: baie swaar was hulle; voor hulle was daar geen sulke sprinkane nie, en na hulle sal daar ook nie wees nie.

For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
Want hulle het die aangesig van die hele aarde bedek, sodat die land verduister is; en hulle het elke plant van die land, en al die vrugte van die bome wat die hael oorgelaat het, geëet: en daar het geen groen ding oorgebly aan die bome, of aan die plante van die veld, deur die hele land Egipte nie.

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
Toe het Farao haastig Moses en Aäron geroep, en gesê, Ek het gesondig teen die HERE julle God, en teen julle.
17
Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
Vergeef nou tog my sonde net hierdie keer, en bid die HERE julle God, dat Hy hierdie dood net van my mag wegneem.

And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
En hy het van Farao uitgegaan, en die HERE gebid.

And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
En die HERE het ‚'n baie sterk westewind omgedraai, wat die sprinkane weggeneem het, en hulle in die Skelfsee gewerp het; daar het nie een sprinkaan in al die grense van Egipte oorgebly nie.

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
Maar die HERE het Farao se hart verhard, sodat hy die kinders van Israel nie laat gaan het nie.
21
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness [which] may be felt.
En die HERE het tot Moses gesê, Steek jou hand na die hemel uit, dat daar duisternis mag wees oor die land Egipte, selfs duisternis wat gevoel kan word.

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
En Moses het sy hand na die hemel uitgesteek; en daar was ‚'n digte duisternis in die hele land Egipte drie dae lank:
23
They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
Hulle het mekaar nie gesien nie, en niemand het van sy plek opgestaan drie dae lank nie: maar al die kinders van Israel het lig in hulle wonings gehad.
24
And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
En Farao het Moses geroep, en gesê, Gaan, dien die HERE; net julle kleinvee en julle beeste moet agterbly: laat julle kinders ook saam met julle gaan.

And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
En Moses het gesê, Jy moet ons ook offers en brandoffers gee, dat ons mag offer aan die HERE onse God.
26
Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
Ons vee moet ook saam met ons gaan; daar mag nie ‚'n hoef agterbly nie; want daarvan moet ons neem om die HERE onse God te dien; en ons weet nie waarmee ons die HERE moet dien nie, totdat ons daar kom.
27
But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.
Maar die HERE het Farao se hart verhard, en hy wou hulle nie laat gaan nie.
28
And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in [that] day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
En Farao het tot hom gesê, Gaan weg van my; pas op vir jouself, sien my aangesig nie weer nie; want in die dag dat jy my aangesig sien, sal jy sterwe.
29
And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.
En Moses het gesê, Jy het goed gespreek, ek sal jou aangesig nie weer sien nie.
