And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.
En Moses het geantwoord en gesê, Maar kyk, hulle sal my nie glo nie, en nie na my stem luister nie: want hulle sal sê, Die HERE het nie aan jou verskyn nie.

And the LORD said unto him, What [is] that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
En die HERE het tot hom gesê, Wat is dit in jou hand? En hy het gesê, ’n Staf.

And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
En Hy het gesê, Gooi dit op die grond. En hy het dit op die grond gegooi, en dit het ’n slang geword; en Moses het daarvoor gevlug.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
En die HERE het tot Moses gesê, Steek jou hand uit, en vat dit by die stert. En hy het sy hand uitgesteek, en dit gegryp, en dit het ’n staf in sy hand geword:

That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
Dat hulle mag glo dat die HERE, die God van hulle vaders, die God van Abraham, die God van Isak, en die God van Jakob, aan jou verskyn het.

And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand [was] leprous as snow.
En die HERE het verder tot hom gesê, Steek nou jou hand in jou boesem. En hy het sy hand in sy boesem gesteek; en toe hy dit uitgetrek het, kyk, sy hand was melaats soos sneeu.

And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his [other] flesh.
En Hy het gesê, Steek jou hand weer in jou boesem. En hy het sy hand weer in sy boesem gesteek, en dit uit sy boesem getrek, en kyk, dit is weer soos sy ander vlees.

And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
En dit sal gebeur, as hulle jou nie glo nie, en nie na die stem van die eerste teken luister nie, dat hulle die stem van die laaste teken sal glo.

And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour [it] upon the dry [land]: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry [land].
En dit sal gebeur, as hulle selfs nie hierdie twee tekens glo nie, en nie na jou stem luister nie, dat jy van die water van die rivier moet neem, en dit op die droë land uitgiet: en die water wat jy uit die rivier neem, sal bloed word op die droë land.

And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I [am] not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I [am] slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
En Moses het tot die HERE gesê, O my Here, ek is nie ’n man van woorde nie, nie gister, of eergister, of sedert die tyd dat U tot u dienaar gespreek het nie: maar ek is swaar van mond, en swaar van tong.

And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
En die HERE het tot hom gesê, Wie het die mens se mond gemaak? of wie maak die stomme, of doof, of die siende, of die blinde? is dit nie Ek, die HERE nie?

Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
Gaan dan nou heen, en Ek sal met jou mond wees, en jou leer wat jy moet sê.
13
And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand [of him whom] thou wilt send.
En hy het gesê, O my Here, stuur tog deur die hand van hom wat U wil stuur.
14
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, [Is] not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
En die toorn van die HERE is teen Moses aangesteek, en Hy het gesê, Is daar nie Aäron die Leviet jou broer nie? Ek weet dat hy goed kan praat. En ook, kyk, hy kom uit om jou tegemoet te gaan: en wanneer hy jou sien, sal hy in sy hart bly wees.

And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.
En jy moet tot hom spreek, en die woorde in sy mond sit: en Ek sal met jou mond en met sy mond wees, en julle leer wat julle moet doen.
16
And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, [even] he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
En hy sal jou mond wees vir die volk: en hy sal jou mond wees, en jy sal vir hom God wees.
17
And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
En jy moet hierdie staf in jou hand neem, waarmee jy tekens moet doen.

And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which [are] in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
En Moses het weggegaan en na Jetro sy skoonvader teruggekeer, en tot hom gesê, Laat my tog gaan, en na my broers terugkeer wat in Egipte is, en sien of hulle nog lewe. En Jetro het tot Moses gesê, Gaan in vrede.

And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
En die HERE het in Midian tot Moses gesê, Gaan, keer terug na Egipte: want al die manne is dood wat jou lewe gesoek het.
20
And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
En Moses het sy vrou en sy seuns geneem, en hulle op ‚'n esel gesit, en hy het teruggekeer na die land Egipte: en Moses het die staf van God in sy hand geneem.

And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
En die HERE het tot Moses gesê, Wanneer jy gaan om na Egipte terug te keer, sien dat jy al die wonders doen voor Farao wat Ek in jou hand gesit het: maar Ek sal sy hart verhard, dat hy die volk nie sal laat gaan nie.

And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel [is] my son, [even] my firstborn:
En jy moet tot Farao sê, So sê die HERE, Israel is my seun, selfs my eersgeborene:
23
And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, [even] thy firstborn.
En ek sê tot jou, Laat my seun gaan, dat hy My mag dien: en as jy weier om hom te laat gaan, kyk, ek sal jou seun, jou eersgeborene, doodmaak.

And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.
En dit het gebeur op die pad, in die herberg, dat die HERE hom ontmoet het, en gesoek het om hom dood te maak.
25
Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast [it] at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband [art] thou to me.
Toe het Zippora ’n skerp klip geneem, en die voorhuid van haar seun afgesny, en dit aan sy voete gegooi, en gesê, Sekerlik is jy vir my ’n bloedbruidegom.

So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband [thou art], because of the circumcision.
So het Hy hom laat gaan: toe het sy gesê, ’n Bloedbruidegom vanweë die besnydenis.
27
And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.
En die HERE het tot Aäron gesê, Gaan die wildernis in om Moses tegemoet te gaan. En hy het gegaan, en hom by die berg van God ontmoet, en hom gesoen.

And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.
En Moses het aan Aäron al die woorde van die HERE vertel wat Hom gestuur het, en al die tekens wat Hy hom beveel het.

And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:
En Moses en Aäron het gegaan en al die ouderlinge van die kinders van Israel bymekaargemaak:
30
And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
En Aäron het al die woorde gespreek wat die HERE tot Moses gespreek het, en die tekens voor die oë van die volk gedoen.
31
And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
En die volk het geglo: en toe hulle hoor dat die HERE die kinders van Israel besoek het, en dat Hy hulle ellende aangesien het, toe het hulle die hoof gebuig en aanbid.
