In the tenth year, in the tenth [month], in the twelfth [day] of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
In die tiende jaar, in die tiende maand, op die twaalfde dag van die maand, het die woord van die HERE tot my gekom, sê,

Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt:
Seun van die mens, sit jou aangesig teen Farao koning van Egipte, en profeteer teen hom, en teen die hele Egipte:
3
Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I [am] against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river [is] mine own, and I have made [it] for myself.
Spreek, en sê, So sê die Here GOD; Kyk, ek is teen jou, Farao koning van Egipte, die groot draak wat in die midde van sy riviere lê, wat gesê het, My rivier is myne eie, en ek het dit vir myself gemaak.

But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales.
Maar ek sal hake in jou kakebene sit, en ek sal die visse van jou riviere aan jou skubbe laat kleef, en ek sal jou uit die midde van jou riviere uittrek, en al die visse van jou riviere sal aan jou skubbe kleef.

And I will leave thee [thrown] into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.
En ek sal jou in die wildernis laat, jou en al die visse van jou riviere: jy sal op die oop veld val; jy sal nie bymekaargemaak of versamel word nie: ek het jou aan die diere van die veld en aan die voëls van die hemel tot voedsel gegee.

And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I [am] the LORD, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
En al die inwoners van Egipte sal weet dat ek die HERE is, omdat hulle ‚'n staf van riet was vir die huis van Israel.

When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst break, and rend all their shoulder: and when they leaned upon thee, thou brakest, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
Toe hulle jou by die hand geneem het, het jy gebreek, en al hulle skouers geskeur: en toe hulle op jou gesteun het, het jy gebreek, en al hulle lendene laat skud.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and cut off man and beast out of thee.
Daarom so sê die Here GOD; Kyk, ek sal ’n swaard oor jou bring, en mens en dier van jou afsny.

And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I [am] the LORD: because he hath said, The river [is] mine, and I have made [it].
En die land van Egipte sal verwoes en verwoes word; en hulle sal weet dat ek die HERE is: omdat hy gesê het, Die rivier is myne, en ek het dit gemaak.

Behold, therefore I [am] against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste [and] desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.
Kyk, daarom is ek teen jou, en teen jou riviere, en ek sal die land van Egipte heeltemal verwoes maak, van die toring van Syene af selfs tot by die grens van Etiopië.

No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.
Geen voet van mens sal daardeur gaan nie, en geen voet van dier sal daardeur gaan nie, en dit sal nie veertig jaar bewoon word nie.
12
And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries [that are] desolate, and her cities among the cities [that are] laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
En ek sal die land van Egipte verwoes maak in die midde van die lande wat verwoes is, en haar stede in die midde van die stede wat verwoes is, sal veertig jaar verwoes wees: en ek sal die Egiptenaars onder die nasies verstrooi, en hulle in die lande verstrooi.

Yet thus saith the Lord GOD; At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they were scattered:
Tog so sê die Here GOD; Aan die einde van veertig jaar sal ek die Egiptenaars uit die volk bymekaarmaak waarheen hulle verstrooi was:
14
And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return [into] the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom.
En ek sal die gevangenisskap van Egipte terugbring, en hulle in die land van Patros, in die land van hulle herkoms, terugbring; en hulle sal daar ‚'n lae koninkryk wees.
15
It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it exalt itself any more above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.
Dit sal die laagste van die koninkryke wees; en dit sal nie meer bo die nasies verhef word nie: want ek sal hulle verminder, dat hulle nie meer oor die nasies heers nie.

And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, which bringeth [their] iniquity to remembrance, when they shall look after them: but they shall know that I [am] the Lord GOD.
En dit sal nie meer die vertroue van die huis van Israel wees nie, wat ongeregtigheid in herinnering bring, wanneer hulle na hulle omsien: maar hulle sal weet dat ek die Here GOD is.

And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first [month], in the first [day] of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
En dit het gebeur in die sewe en twintigste jaar, in die eerste maand, op die eerste dag van die maand, dat die woord van die HERE tot my gekom het, sê,
18
Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyrus: every head [was] made bald, and every shoulder [was] peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service that he had served against it:
Seun van die mens, Nebukadrésar koning van Babel het sy leër ’n groot diens teen Tirus laat doen: elke kop is kaal gemaak, en elke skouer is afgevryf: tog het hy en sy leër geen loon gehad vir Tirus, vir die diens wat hy teen dit gedoen het nie:

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.
Daarom so sê die Here GOD; Kyk, ek sal die land van Egipte aan Nebukadrésar koning van Babel gee; en hy sal haar menigte wegneem, en haar roof neem, en haar buit neem; en dit sal die loon vir sy leër wees.
20
I have given him the land of Egypt [for] his labour wherewith he served against it, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord GOD.
Ek het hom die land van Egipte gegee vir sy arbeid waarmee hy daarteen gedien het, omdat hulle vir My gewerk het, sê die Here GOD.
21
In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
In daardie dag sal ek die horing van die huis van Israel laat uitspruit, en ek sal jou die opening van die mond in die midde van hulle gee; en hulle sal weet dat ek die HERE is.
