Now these [are] the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.
Nou is dit die geslagte van die seuns van Noag, Sem, Gam en Jafet: en vir hulle is seuns gebore ná die vloed.

The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
Die seuns van Jafet; Gomer, en Magog, en Madai, en Jawan, en Tubal, en Meseg, en Tiras.
3
And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
En die seuns van Gomer; Askenas, en Rifat, en Togarma.
4
And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
En die seuns van Jawan; Elisa, en Tarsis, Kittim, en Dodanim.

By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
Deur hierdie is die eilande van die heidene verdeel in hulle lande; elkeen na sy taal, na hulle families, in hulle nasies.

And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
En die seuns van Gam; Kus, en Misraim, en Put, en Kanaän.

And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
En die seuns van Kus; Seba, en Hawila, en Sabta, en Raëma, en Sabteka: en die seuns van Raëma; Seba, en Dedan.

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
En Kus het Nimrod verwek: hy het begin om ‚'n magtige een te wees op die aarde.

He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
Hy was ’n magtige jagter voor die HERE: daarom word gesê, Net soos Nimrod die magtige jagter voor die HERE.

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
En die begin van sy koninkryk was Babel, en Ereg, en Akkad, en Kalne, in die land Sinear.

Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,
Uit daardie land het Assur uitgegaan, en Nineve gebou, en die stad Rehobot, en Kalag,

And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same [is] a great city.
En Resen tussen Nineve en Kalag: dieselfde is ‚'n groot stad.

And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
En Misraim het Ludim verwek, en Anamim, en Lehabim, en Naftuhim,

And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.
En Patrusim, en Kasluhim, (waaruit die Filistyne uitgegaan het,) en Kaftorim.

And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
En Kanaän het Sidon sy eersgeborene verwek, en Het,

And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,
En die Jebusiet, en die Amoriet, en die Girgasiet,
17
And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
En die Hewiet, en die Arkiet, en die Siniet,
18
And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.
En die Arwadiet, en die Semariet, en die Hamatiet: en daarna is die families van die Kanaäniete wyd versprei.

And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
En die grens van die Kanaäniete was van Sidon af, soos jy kom na Gerar, tot by Gasa; soos jy gaan, tot by Sodom, en Gomorra, en Adma, en Seboïm, tot by Lasa.

These [are] the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, [and] in their nations.
Dit is die seuns van Gam, na hulle families, na hulle tale, in hulle lande, en in hulle nasies.
21
Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were [children] born.
Ook vir Sem, die vader van al die kinders van Heber, die broer van Jafet die ouere, is kinders gebore.
22
The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
Die kinders van Sem; Elam, en Assur, en Arfaksad, en Lud, en Aram.

And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
En die kinders van Aram; Us, en Hul, en Geter, en Mas.
24
And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.
En Arfaksad het Selag verwek; en Selag het Heber verwek.
25
And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one [was] Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name [was] Joktan.
En vir Heber is twee seuns gebore: die naam van die een was Peleg; want in sy dae is die aarde verdeel; en sy broer se naam was Joktan.

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
En Joktan het Almodad verwek, en Selef, en Hasarmawet, en Jerag,

And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
En Hadoram, en Usal, en Dikla,
28
And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
En Obal, en Abimaël, en Seba,
29
And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these [were] the sons of Joktan.
En Ofir, en Hawila, en Jobab: al hierdie was die seuns van Joktan.
30
And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.
En hulle woonplek was van Mesa af, soos jy gaan na Sefar, ‚'n berg van die ooste.

These [are] the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
Dit is die seuns van Sem, na hulle families, na hulle tale, in hulle lande, na hulle nasies.

These [are] the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
Dit is die families van die seuns van Noag, na hulle geslagte, in hulle nasies: en deur hierdie is die nasies verdeel op die aarde ná die vloed.
