Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD.
Spreek tot die kinders van Israel, en sê tot hulle, Wanneer julle in die land kom wat ek julle gee, dan moet die land ’n sabbat hou aan die HERE.
3
Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;
Ses jaar moet jy jou veld besaai, en ses jaar moet jy jou wingerd snoei, en die vrug daarvan insamel;
4
But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.
Maar in die sewende jaar moet daar ’n sabbat van rus vir die land wees, ’n sabbat aan die HERE: jy mag jou veld nie besaai, of jou wingerd snoei nie.

That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: [for] it is a year of rest unto the land.
Dit wat vanself van jou oes opkom, mag jy nie afoes nie, en die druiwe van jou ongesnoeide wingerd mag jy nie insamel nie: dit is ’n jaar van rus vir die land.

And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
En die sabbat van die land moet vir julle tot voedsel wees; vir jou, en vir jou dienskneg, en vir jou diensmaagd, en vir jou dagloner, en vir jou vreemdeling wat by jou vertoef,

And for thy cattle, and for the beast that [are] in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.
En vir jou vee, en vir die diere wat in jou land is, moet al die opbrengs daarvan tot voedsel wees.
8
And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.
En jy moet vir jou sewe sabatte van jare tel, sewe maal sewe jaar; en die ruimte van die sewe sabatte van jare moet vir jou nege en veertig jaar wees.

Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth [day] of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
Dan moet jy die basuin van die jubeljaar laat klink op die tiende dag van die sewende maand, op die versoendag moet julle die basuin deur julle hele land laat klink.
10
And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
En julle moet die vyftigste jaar heilig, en vryheid uitroep deur die hele land aan al die inwoners daarvan: dit moet ’n jubeljaar vir julle wees; en julle moet elkeen na sy besitting terugkeer, en elkeen na sy familie terugkeer.

A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather [the grapes] in it of thy vine undressed.
’n Jubeljaar moet daardie vyftigste jaar vir julle wees: julle mag nie saai nie, en nie afoes wat vanself daarvan opkom nie, en nie die druiwe van julle ongesnoeide wingerd insamel nie.

For it [is] the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
Want dit is die jubeljaar; dit moet heilig vir julle wees: julle moet die opbrengs daarvan uit die veld eet.
13
In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.
In die jaar van hierdie jubeljaar moet julle elkeen na sy besitting terugkeer.
14
And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest [ought] of thy neighbour’s hand, ye shall not oppress one another:
En as jy iets aan jou naaste verkoop, of iets van jou naaste se hand koop, moet julle mekaar nie verdruk nie:
15
According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, [and] according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:
Volgens die getal van jare na die jubeljaar moet jy van jou naaste koop, en volgens die getal van jare van die opbrengs moet hy aan jou verkoop.
16
According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for [according] to the number [of the years] of the fruits doth he sell unto thee.
Volgens die menigte van jare moet jy die prys daarvan vermeerder, en volgens die minheid van jare moet jy die prys daarvan verminder: want volgens die getal van die jare van die opbrengs verkoop hy dit aan jou.
17
Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I [am] the LORD your God.
Julle mag mekaar dus nie verdruk nie; maar jy moet jou God vrees: want ek is die HERE julle God.
18
Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
Daarom moet julle my insettinge doen, en my oordele onderhou, en dit doen; en julle moet veilig in die land woon.
19
And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.
En die land moet sy vrug gee, en julle moet tot versadiging eet, en veilig daarin woon.
20
And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:
En as julle sê, Wat sal ons in die sewende jaar eet? kyk, ons mag nie saai nie, en ons opbrengs nie insamel nie:
21
Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.
Dan sal ek my seën vir julle in die sesde jaar beveel, en dit sal vrug vir drie jaar voortbring.
22
And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat [yet] of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat [of] the old [store].
En julle moet in die agtste jaar saai, en nog van die ou vrug eet tot die negende jaar toe; totdat sy vrugte inkom, moet julle van die ou voorraad eet.
23
The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land [is] mine; for ye [are] strangers and sojourners with me.
Die land mag nie vir altyd verkoop word nie: want die land is Myne; want julle is vreemdelinge en bywoners by My.
24
And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.
En in die hele land van julle besitting moet julle ’n loslating vir die land toelaat.
25
If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away [some] of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.
As jou broer arm word, en iets van sy besitting verkoop het, en as enige van sy nabye bloedverwante kom om dit los te koop, dan moet hy dit loskoop wat sy broer verkoop het.
26
And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;
En as die man geen losser het nie, en self in staat is om dit los te koop;
27
Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.
Dan laat hy die jare van die verkoop daarvan bereken, en die oorskot teruggee aan die man aan wie hy dit verkoop het; dat hy na sy besitting mag terugkeer.
28
But if he be not able to restore [it] to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
Maar as hy nie in staat is om dit aan hom terug te gee nie, dan moet dit wat verkoop is, in die hand van hom bly wat dit gekoop het tot die jaar van jubeljaar: en in die jubeljaar moet dit uitgaan, en hy moet na sy besitting terugkeer.
29
And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; [within] a full year may he redeem it.
En as ’n man ’n woonhuis in ’n ommuurde stad verkoop, dan mag hy dit binne ’n hele jaar na die verkoop daarvan loskoop; binne ’n volle jaar mag hy dit loskoop.
30
And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that [is] in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.
En as dit nie binne die ruimte van ’n volle jaar losgekoop word nie, dan moet die huis wat in die ommuurde stad is, vir altyd toekom aan hom wat dit gekoop het deur sy geslagte: dit moet nie in die jubeljaar uitgaan nie.
31
But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.
Maar die huise van die dorpe wat geen muur rondom hulle het nie, moet gereken word soos die velde van die land: hulle mag losgekoop word, en hulle moet in die jubeljaar uitgaan.
32
Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, [and] the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.
Nogtans die stede van die Leviete, en die huise van die stede van hulle besitting, mag die Leviete te enige tyd loskoop.
33
And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in [the year of] jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites [are] their possession among the children of Israel.
En as ’n man van die Leviete die loskoop koop, dan moet die huis wat verkoop is, en die stad van sy besitting, in die jubeljaar uitgaan: want die huise van die stede van die Leviete is hulle besitting onder die kinders van Israel.
34
But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it [is] their perpetual possession.
Maar die veld van die voorstede van hulle stede mag nie verkoop word nie; want dit is hulle ewige besitting.
35
And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: [yea, though he be] a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.
En as jou broer arm word, en by jou verval, dan moet jy hom onderhou: ja, al is hy ’n vreemdeling, of ’n bywoner; dat hy by jou mag lewe.
36
Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.
Neem geen rente van hom of vermeerdering nie, maar vrees jou God; dat jou broer by jou mag lewe.
37
Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.
Jy mag hom jou geld nie op rente gee nie, en jou voedsel nie teen vermeerdering gee nie.
38
I [am] the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, [and] to be your God.
Ek is die HERE julle God, wat julle uit die land Egipte uitgelei het, om aan julle die land Kanaän te gee, en om julle God te wees.
39
And if thy brother [that dwelleth] by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:
En as jou broer by jou arm word, en aan jou verkoop word; jy mag hom nie soos ’n dienskneg laat diens doen nie:
40
[But] as an hired servant, [and] as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, [and] shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:
Maar soos ’n dagloner, en soos ’n bywoner, moet hy by jou wees, en moet jou dien tot die jaar van jubeljaar:
41
And [then] shall he depart from thee, [both] he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.
En dan moet hy van jou af weggaan, beide hy en sy kinders saam met hom, en moet na sy eie familie terugkeer, en na die besitting van sy vaders terugkeer.
42
For they [are] my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.
Want hulle is my dienaars, wat ek uit die land Egipte uitgelei het: hulle mag nie soos diensknegte verkoop word nie.
43
Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.
Jy mag nie met hardheid oor hom heers nie; maar jy moet jou God vrees.
44
Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, [shall be] of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.
Beide jou diensknegte, en jou diensmaagde, wat jy sal hê, moet wees van die heidene wat rondom julle is; van hulle moet julle diensknegte en diensmaagde koop.
45
Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that [are] with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.
Boonop van die kinders van die bywoners wat onder julle vertoef, van hulle moet julle koop, en van hulle families wat by julle is, wat hulle in julle land verwek het: en hulle moet julle besitting wees.
46
And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit [them for] a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
En julle moet hulle as ’n erfenis vir julle kinders na julle neem, om dit as ’n besitting te erf; hulle moet julle diensknegte wees vir ewig: maar oor julle broers die kinders van Israel, mag julle nie die een oor die ander met hardheid heers nie.
47
And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother [that dwelleth] by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger [or] sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family:
En as ’n bywoner of vreemdeling by jou ryk word, en jou broer wat by hom is, arm word, en homself aan die vreemdeling of bywoner by jou verkoop, of aan die nageslag van die vreemdeling se familie:
48
After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:
Na hy verkoop is, mag hy losgekoop word: een van sy broers mag hom loskoop:
49
Either his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or [any] that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.
Of sy oom, of sy oom se seun, mag hom loskoop, of enige van sy naby bloedverwante uit sy familie mag hom loskoop; of as hy in staat is, mag hy homself loskoop.
50
And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.
En hy moet met hom wat hom gekoop het, reken van die jaar af dat hy homself aan hom verkoop het tot die jaar van jubeljaar: en die prys van sy verkoop moet wees volgens die getal van jare, volgens die tyd van ’n gehuurde dienaar moet dit by hom wees.
51
If [there be] yet many years [behind], according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
As daar nog baie jare is, volgens hulle moet hy teruggee die prys van sy loslating uit die geld waarvoor hy gekoop is.
52
And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, [and] according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.
En as daar min jare oorbly tot die jaar van jubeljaar, dan moet hy met hom reken, en volgens sy jare moet hy teruggee die prys van sy loslating.
53
[And] as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: [and the other] shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.
En soos ’n jaarlikse gehuurde dienaar moet hy by hom wees: en die ander mag nie met hardheid oor hom heers voor jou oë nie.
54
And if he be not redeemed in these [years], then he shall go out in the year of jubile, [both] he, and his children with him.
En as hy nie op hierdie maniere losgekoop word nie, dan moet hy in die jaar van jubeljaar uitgaan, beide hy, en sy kinders saam met hom.
55
For unto me the children of Israel [are] servants; they [are] my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I [am] the LORD your God.
Want aan My behoort die kinders van Israel as dienaars: hulle is my dienaars wat ek uit die land Egipte uitgelei het: ek is die HERE julle God.
