1
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up [any] image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I [am] the LORD your God.
Julle mag vir julle geen afgode maak nie, en geen gesnede beeld of standbeeld vir julle oprig nie, en geen beelde steen in julle land sit om julle daarvoor neer te buig nie: want ek is die HERE julle God.
2
Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I [am] the LORD.
Julle moet my sabatte onderhou, en my heiligdom eerbiedig: ek is die HERE.
3
If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
As julle in my insettinge wandel, en my gebooie onderhou, en dit doen;
4
Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Dan sal ek julle reëns gee in hulle seisoen, en die land sal sy opbrengs gee, en die bome van die veld sal hulle vrug gee.
5
And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
En julle dorsing sal tot die druiwe-oes reik, en die druiwe-oes sal tot die saaityd reik: en julle sal julle brood tot versadiging eet, en veilig in julle land woon.

And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make [you] afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
En ek sal vrede in die land gee, en julle sal lê, en niemand sal julle verskrik nie: en ek sal die bose diere uit die land uitroei, en die swaard sal nie deur julle land gaan nie.

And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
En julle sal julle vyande agtervolg, en hulle sal voor julle deur die swaard val.
8
And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
En vyf van julle sal honderd agtervolg, en honderd van julle sal tienduisend op die vlug jaag: en julle vyande sal voor julle deur die swaard val.
9
For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
Want ek sal op julle let, en julle vrugbaar maak, en julle vermeerder, en my verbond met julle bevestig.
10
And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
En julle sal die ou voorraad eet, en die ou vanweë die nuwe uitbring.
11
And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
En ek sal my tabernakel onder julle sit: en my siel sal julle nie verfoei nie.
12
And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
En ek sal onder julle wandel, en julle God wees, en julle sal my volk wees.
13
I [am] the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
Ek is die HERE julle God, wat julle uitgelei het uit die land Egipte, dat julle nie hulle diensknegte sou wees nie; en ek het die bande van julle juk stukkend gebreek, en julle regop laat loop.

But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
Maar as julle nie na My luister nie, en nie al hierdie gebooie doen nie;
15
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, [but] that ye break my covenant:
En as julle my insettinge verag, of as julle siel my oordele verfoei, sodat julle nie al my gebooie doen nie, maar my verbond verbreek:
16
I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
Ek sal ook dit aan julle doen; ek sal verskrikking oor julle bring, vertering, en die koors, wat die oë verteer, en die siel smartlik maak: en julle sal julle saad tevergeefs saai, want julle vyande sal dit eet.
17
And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
En ek sal my aangesig teen julle set, en julle sal voor julle vyande verslaan word: hulle wat julle haat, sal oor julle heers; en julle sal vlug wanneer niemand julle agtervolg nie.

And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
En as julle vir al hierdie dinge nog nie na My luister nie, dan sal ek julle sewe maal meer straf vir julle sondes.
19
And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:
En ek sal die trotsheid van julle mag verbreek; en ek sal julle hemel soos yster maak, en julle aarde soos koper:
20
And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
En julle krag sal tevergeefs verbruik word: want julle land sal sy opbrengs nie gee nie, en die bome van die land sal hulle vrugte nie gee nie.
21
And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
En as julle teen My wandel, en nie na My wil luister nie; ek sal sewe maal meer plae oor julle bring, volgens julle sondes.
22
I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your [high] ways shall be desolate.
Ek sal ook wilde diere onder julle stuur, wat julle kinders beroof, en julle vee vernietig, en julle min maak; en julle paaie sal woes wees.
23
And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;
En as julle deur hierdie dinge nie deur My hervorm word nie, maar teen My wandel;
24
Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
Dan sal ek ook teen julle wandel, en julle nog sewe maal vir julle sondes slaan.
25
And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of [my] covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
En ek sal ‚'n swaard oor julle bring, wat die wraak van die verbond sal uitoefen: en wanneer julle in julle stede bymekaarkom, sal ek die pes onder julle stuur; en julle sal in die hand van die vyand oorgegee word.

[And] when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver [you] your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
En wanneer ek julle broodstok verbreek, sal tien vroue julle brood in een oond bak, en hulle sal julle brood weer volgens gewig aflewer: en julle sal eet, en nie versadig word nie.
27
And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
En as julle vir al hierdie dinge nie na My luister nie, maar teen My wandel;
28
Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
Dan sal ek teen julle wandel in grimmigheid; en ek, selfs ek, sal julle sewe maal vir julle sondes tugtig.
29
And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
En julle sal die vlees van julle seuns eet, en die vlees van julle dogters moet julle eet.
30
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
En ek sal julle hoogtes vernietig, en julle beelde afkap, en julle dooie liggame op die dooie liggame van julle afgode werp, en my siel sal julle verfoei.
31
And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.
En ek sal julle stede ‚'n wildernis maak, en julle heiligdomme verwoes, en ek sal nie die soete geur van julle soet reukwerk ruik nie.
32
And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
En ek sal die land verwoes: en julle vyande wat daarin woon, sal daaroor verbaas wees.
33
And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
En ek sal julle onder die heidene verstrooi, en ‚'n swaard agter julle uittrek: en julle land moet woes wees, en julle stede ‚'n wildernis.

Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye [be] in your enemies’ land; [even] then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.
Dan sal die land sy sabatte geniet, solank as dit woes lê, en julle in die land van julle vyande is; dan sal die land rus, en sy sabatte geniet.
35
As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
Solank as dit woes lê, moet dit rus; omdat dit nie gerus het in julle sabatte, toe julle daarin gewoon het nie.
36
And upon them that are left [alive] of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
En op hulle wat van julle oorbly, sal ek ‚'n flouheid in hulle harte stuur in die lande van hulle vyande; en die geluid van ‚'n beweegde blaar sal hulle agtervolg; en hulle sal vlug, soos vlug voor die swaard; en hulle sal val wanneer niemand agtervolg nie.
37
And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
En hulle sal die een op die ander val, soos voor die swaard, wanneer niemand agtervolg nie: en julle sal geen mag hê om voor julle vyande te staan nie.
38
And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
En julle sal omkom onder die heidene, en die land van julle vyande sal julle verteer.
39
And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.
En hulle wat van julle oorbly, sal in hulle ongeregtigheid wegteer in julle vyande se lande; en ook in die ongeregtighede van hulle vaders sal hulle saam met hulle wegteer.
40
If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;
As hulle hulle ongeregtigheid bely, en die ongeregtigheid van hulle vaders, met hulle oortreding wat hulle teen My oortree het, en ook dat hulle teen My gewandel het;
41
And [that] I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
En dat ek ook teen hulle gewandel het, en hulle in die land van hulle vyande gebring het; as dan hulle onbesnede harte verneder word, en hulle dan die straf van hulle ongeregtigheid aanneem:
42
Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
Dan sal ek my verbond met Jakob onthou, en ook my verbond met Isak, en ook my verbond met Abraham sal ek onthou; en ek sal die land onthou.
43
The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.
Die land sal ook deur hulle verlaat word, en sal sy sabatte geniet, terwyl dit woes lê sonder hulle: en hulle sal die straf van hulle ongeregtigheid aanneem: omdat, selfs omdat hulle my oordele verag het, en omdat hulle siel my insettinge verfoei het.
44
And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I [am] the LORD their God.
En tog, vir al hierdie dinge, wanneer hulle in die land van hulle vyande is, sal ek hulle nie verwerp nie, en hulle nie verfoei om hulle heeltemal te vernietig, en my verbond met hulle te verbreek nie: want ek is die HERE hulle God.
45
But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I [am] the LORD.
Maar ek sal om hulle ontwil die verbond van hulle voorvaders onthou, wat ek uit die land Egipte uitgelei het in die oë van die heidene, om hulle God te wees: ek is die HERE.
46
These [are] the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
Dit is die insettinge en oordele en wette, wat die HERE tussen Hom en die kinders van Israel op die berg Sinai deur die hand van Moses gemaak het.
