And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
En toe hulle naby Jérusalem kom, by Betfagé en Betánië, by die Olyfberg, stuur Hy twee van sy dissipels uit,

And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring [him].
En sê tot hulle, Gaan in die dorp wat teenoor julle is: en so gou as julle daarin ingaan, sal julle ’n veulen vind wat vasgemaak is, waarop nog nooit ’n mens gesit het nie; maak dit los, en bring dit.

And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
En as iemand tot julle sê, Waarom doen julle dit? sê julle dat die Here dit nodig het; en dadelik sal hy dit hierheen stuur.

And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
En hulle het gegaan, en die veulen by die deur buite op ‚'n plek waar twee paaie bymekaarkom, vasgemaak gevind; en hulle maak dit los.

And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
En sekere van dié wat daar gestaan het, het tot hulle gesê, Wat doen julle, dat julle die veulen losmaak?

And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
En hulle het tot hulle gesê soos Jesus beveel het: en hulle het hulle laat gaan.

And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
En hulle het die veulen by Jesus gebring, en hulle klere daarop gelê; en Hy het daarop gesit.

And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed [them] in the way.
En baie het hulle klere op die pad gesprei: en andere het takke afgekap van die bome, en dit op die pad gestrooi.

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord:
En dié wat vooruitgegaan het, en dié wat gevolg het, het uitgeroep, sê, Hosanna; Geseënd is Hy wat kom in die Naam van die Here:
10
Blessed [be] the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
Geseënd is die koninkryk van ons vader Dawid, wat in die Naam van die Here kom: Hosanna in die hoogste.

And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
En Jesus het in Jérusalem ingegaan, en in die tempel: en toe Hy alles rondom aangesien het, en nou die aandtyd was, het Hy uitgegaan na Betánië met die twaalf.

And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
En die volgende dag, toe hulle van Betánië af kom, was Hy honger:

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not [yet].
En toe Hy van ver af ‚'n vyeboom sien met blare, het Hy gegaan, of Hy miskien iets daaraan sou vind: en toe Hy by dit kom, het Hy niks gevind nie behalwe blare; want die tyd van vye was nog nie.

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard [it].
En Jesus het geantwoord en tot dit gesê, Laat niemand voortaan ooit vrug van jou eet nie. En sy dissipels het dit gehoor.

And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
En hulle kom in Jérusalem: en Jesus het in die tempel gegaan, en begin om dié uit te dryf wat in die tempel verkoop en gekoop het; en die tafels van die geldwisselaars, en die sitplekke van dié wat duiwe verkoop, omgekeer;

And would not suffer that any man should carry [any] vessel through the temple.
En sou nie toelaat dat iemand enige vat deur die tempel dra nie.
17
And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
En Hy het geleer, sê tot hulle, Is dit nie geskrywe nie, My huis sal ’n huis van gebed genoem word vir al die nasies? maar julle het dit ’n roofnes gemaak.

And the scribes and chief priests heard [it], and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
En die skrifgeleerdes en owerpriesters het dit gehoor, en gesoek hoe hulle Hom mag vernietig: want hulle was bevrees vir Hom, omdat die hele skare verbaas was oor sy leer.

And when even was come, he went out of the city.
En toe die aand gekom het, het Hy uit die stad uitgegaan.

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
En in die môre, toe hulle verbygaan, het hulle die vyeboom van die wortels af verdor gesien.
21
And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
En Petrus, dit onthouende, het tot Hom gesê, Meester, kyk, die vyeboom wat U vervloek het, is verdor.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
En Jesus het geantwoord en tot hulle gesê, Het geloof in God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Want voorwaar sê ek vir julle, Dat elkeen wat tot hierdie berg sal sê, Word verwyder, en in die see gewerp; en nie in sy hart sal twyfel nie, maar sal glo dat dié dinge wat hy sê sal gebeur; hy sal hê wat hy ook al sê.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].
Daarom sê ek vir julle, Wat julle ook al begeer, wanneer julle bid, glo dat julle dit ontvang, en julle sal dit hê.
25
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
En wanneer julle staan om te bid, vergeef, as julle iets teen iemand het: dat julle Vader ook wat in die hemele is, julle oortredings mag vergewe.
26
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Maar as julle nie vergeef nie, sal julle Vader wat in die hemele is ook julle oortredings nie vergewe nie.
27
And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
En hulle kom weer in Jérusalem: en toe Hy in die tempel wandel, kom die owerpriesters, en die skrifgeleerdes, en die ouderlinge by Hom,
28
And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
En sê tot Hom, Deur watter gesag doen U hierdie dinge? en wie het U hierdie gesag gegee om hierdie dinge te doen?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
En Jesus het geantwoord en tot hulle gesê, Ek sal julle ook een ding vra, en antwoord My, en ek sal julle sê deur watter gesag ek hierdie dinge doen.
30
The baptism of John, was [it] from heaven, or of men? answer me.
Die doop van Johannes, was dit van die hemel, of van die mens? antwoord My.
31
And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
En hulle het onder mekaar geredeneer, sê, As ons sal sê, Van die hemel; sal Hy sê, Waarom het julle hom dan nie geglo nie?
32
But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all [men] counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
Maar as ons sal sê, Van die mens; hulle het die volk gevrees: want almal het Johannes gehou dat hy waarlik ’n profeet was.
33
And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
En hulle het geantwoord en tot Jesus gesê, Ons kan nie sê nie. En Jesus het geantwoord en tot hulle gesê, Ook ek sê julle nie deur watter gesag ek hierdie dinge doen nie.
