The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, [and] Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
Die woord van die HERE wat tot Miga die Morastiet gekom het in die dae van Jotam, Agas, en Hiskía, konings van Juda, wat hy gesien het aangaande Samaría en Jérusalem.

Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.
Hoor, al julle volk; luister, o aarde, en al wat daarin is: en laat die Here GOD ‚'n getuie wees teen julle, die Here uit sy heilige tempel.

For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.
Want, kyk, die HERE kom uit sy plek uit, en sal afkom, en op die hoë plekke van die aarde wandel.

And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, [and] as the waters [that are] poured down a steep place.
En die berge sal onder Hom smelt, en die valleie sal geskeur word, soos was voor die vuur, en soos die waters wat afgestort word by ‚'n afdraand.

For the transgression of Jacob [is] all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What [is] the transgression of Jacob? [is it] not Samaria? and what [are] the high places of Judah? [are they] not Jerusalem?
Vir die oortreding van Jakob is dit alles, en vir die sondes van die huis van Israel. Wat is die oortreding van Jakob? is dit nie Samaría nie? en wat is die hoë plekke van Juda? is dit nie Jérusalem nie?

Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, [and] as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.
Daarom sal ek Samaría soos ’n hoop van die veld maak, en soos plantings van ’n wingerdstok: en ek sal haar klippe in die vallei afwerp, en ek sal haar fondamente ontdek.

And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered [it] of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.
En al haar gesnede beelde sal stukkend geslaan word, en al haar huur sal met vuur verbrand word, en al haar afgode sal ek verwoes maak: want sy het dit van die huur van ‚'n hoer bymekaargemaak, en hulle sal na die huur van ‚'n hoer terugkeer.

Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls.
Daarom sal ek weeklaag en huil, ek sal kaal en naak gaan: ek sal ‚'n weeklag maak soos die jakkalse, en ‚'n treuring soos die uile.

For her wound [is] incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, [even] to Jerusalem.
Want haar wond is ongeneeslik; want dit is tot by Juda gekom; hy is tot by die poort van my volk, selfs tot by Jérusalem, gekom.

Declare ye [it] not at Gath, weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah roll thyself in the dust.
Verklaar dit nie by Gat nie, weeklaag glad nie: in die huis van Afra rol jouself in die stof.

Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel; he shall receive of you his standing.
Gaan verby, julle inwoonster van Safir, met jou skande naak: die inwoonster van Sáänan het nie uitgekom in die weeklag van Bet-Esel nie; hy sal sy staanplek van julle afneem.

For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good: but evil came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem.
Want die inwoonster van Marot het met sorg gewag vir die goeie: maar die kwaad het van die HERE af neergekom tot by die poort van Jérusalem.

O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she [is] the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.
o jy inwoonster van Lágis, bind die strydwa aan die vinnige dier: sy is die begin van die sonde tot die dogter van Sion: want die oortredings van Israel is in jou gevind.

Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath: the houses of Achzib [shall be] a lie to the kings of Israel.
Daarom sal jy geskenke gee aan Moreset-Gat: die huise van Aksib sal ‚'n leuen wees vir die konings van Israel.

Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.
Tog sal ek ’n erfgenaam tot jou bring, o inwoonster van Maresa: hy sal tot by Adúllam kom, die heerlikheid van Israel.
16
Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.
Maak jou kaal, en skeer jou vir jou teer kinders; vergroot jou kaalheid soos die arend; want hulle is van jou in gevangenisskap weggegaan.
