And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding;

En die rest van die volk, die priesters, die Leviete, die poortwagters, die sangers, die Netinim, en almal wat hulleself van die volke van die lande afgeskei het tot die wet van God, hulle vroue, hulle seuns, en hulle dogters, elkeen wat kennis en verstand gehad het;

They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;

Het by hulle broers, hulle edeles, vasgehou, en ‚'n vloek en ‚'n eed aangegaan, om in die wet van God te wandel, wat deur die hand van Moses die dienaar van God gegee is, en om al die gebooie van die HERE onse Here, en sy oordele en sy insettinge, te bewaar en te doen;

And that we would not give our daughters unto the people of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons:

En dat ons ons dogters nie aan die volke van die land sou gee nie, en hulle dogters nie vir ons seuns sou neem nie:

31

And [if] the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, [that] we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and [that] we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.

En as die volke van die land enige koopware of enige voedsel op die sabbatdag bring om te verkoop, dat ons dit nie van hulle op die sabbat, of op die heilige dag, sou koop nie; en dat ons die sewende jaar, en die skuld van elke hand, sou laat vaar.

Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God;

Ook het ons vir ons ordonnanse gestel, om jaarliks die derde deel van ‚'n sikkel te gee vir die diens van die huis van onse God;

33

For the shewbread, and for the continual meat offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy [things], and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and [for] all the work of the house of our God.

Vir die toonbrood, en vir die voortdurende spysoffer, en vir die voortdurende brandoffer, van die sabbatte, van die nuwemanen, vir die feestye, en vir die heilige dinge, en vir die sondoffers om versoening te doen vir Israel, en vir al die werk van die huis van onse God.

And we cast the lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the wood offering, to bring [it] into the house of our God, after the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year, to burn upon the altar of the LORD our God, as [it is] written in the law:

En ons het die lotte onder die priesters, die Leviete, en die volk gegooi, vir die houtoffer, om dit in die huis van onse God te bring, volgens die huise van ons vaders, op vasgestelde tye jaar vir jaar, om te brand op die altaar van die HERE onse God, soos geskrywe is in die wet:

And to bring the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, unto the house of the LORD:

En om die eerselings van ons grond, en die eerselings van alle vrugte van alle bome, jaar vir jaar, in die huis van die HERE te bring:

36

Also the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as [it is] written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, unto the priests that minister in the house of our God:

Ook die eersgeborenes van ons seuns, en van ons vee, soos geskrywe is in die wet, en die eersgeborenes van ons beeste en van ons skape, om dit in die huis van onse God te bring, aan die priesters wat in die huis van onse God bedien:

37

And [that] we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.

En dat ons die eerselings van ons deeg, en ons offerandes, en die vrugte van alle soorte bome, van wyn en van olie, aan die priesters sou bring, na die kamers van die huis van onse God; en die tiendes van ons grond aan die Leviete, dat dieselfde Leviete die tiendes mag hê in al die stede van ons landbou.

38

And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.

En die priester die seun van Aäron moet by die Leviete wees, wanneer die Leviete die tiendes neem: en die Leviete moet ’n tiende van die tiendes opbring na die huis van onse God, na die kamers, in die skattehuis.

39

For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where [are] the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God.

Want die kinders van Israel en die kinders van Levi moet die offerande van die koring, van die nuwe wyn, en die olie, na die kamers bring, waar die vate van die heiligdom is, en die priesters wat bedien, en die poortwagters, en die sangers: en ons sal die huis van onse God nie verlaat nie.
