And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first [day] of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
En die HERE het tot Moses gespreek in die wildernis van Sinai, in die tabernakel van die gemeente, op die eerste dag van die tweede maand, in die tweede jaar nadat hulle uit die land Egipte uitgegaan het, en gesê,

Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of [their] names, every male by their polls;
Neem die som van die hele vergadering van die kinders van Israel, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, met die getal van hulle name, elke manlike volgens hulle hoofde;

From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
Van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat is om uit te trek tot die oorlog in Israel: julle en Aäron moet hulle tel volgens hulle leërs.

And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
En saam met julle moet daar ‚'n man van elke stam wees; elke man moet die hoof van die huis van sy vaders wees.

And these [are] the names of the men that shall stand with you: of [the tribe of] Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.
En dit is die name van die manne wat by julle moet staan: van Ruben; Elisúr die seun van Sedeür.

Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
Van Simeon; Selúmiël die seun van Surísaddai.

Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
Van Juda; Nahasón die seun van Amminádab.

Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.

Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.

Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.

These [were] the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
Dit is die benoemdes van die vergadering, vorste van die stamme van hulle vaders, hoofde van duisende in Israel.
17
And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by [their] names:
En Moses en Aäron het hierdie manne geneem wat by die name aangedui is:
18
And they assembled all the congregation together on the first [day] of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
En hulle het die hele vergadering bymekaargemaak op die eerste dag van die tweede maand, en hulle het hulle afkoms verklaar volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, volgens hulle hoofde.

As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
Soos die HERE Moses beveel het, so het hy hulle getel in die wildernis van Sinai.
20
And the children of Reuben, Israel’s eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
En die kinders van Ruben, Israel se eersgeborene, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, volgens hulle hoofde, elke manlike van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;

Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Reuben, [were] forty and six thousand and five hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Ruben, was ses en veertig duisend en vyfhonderd.
22
Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Simeon, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, die wat van hulle getel is, volgens die getal van die name, volgens hulle hoofde, elke manlike van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;

Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Simeon, [were] fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Simeon, was nege en vyftig duisend en driehonderd.
24
Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Gad, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
25
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Gad, [were] forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Gad, was vyf en veertig duisend seshonderd en vyftig.
26
Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Juda, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
27
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Judah, [were] threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Juda, was vier en sewentig duisend en seshonderd.
28
Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Issaskar, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
29
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Issachar, [were] fifty and four thousand and four hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Issaskar, was vier en vyftig duisend en vierhonderd.
30
Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Sébulon, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
31
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Zebulun, [were] fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Sébulon, was sewe en vyftig duisend en vierhonderd.
32
Of the children of Joseph, [namely], of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Josef, naamlik van die kinders van Efraim, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
33
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Ephraim, [were] forty thousand and five hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Efraim, was veertig duisend en vyfhonderd.
34
Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Manasse, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
35
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Manasseh, [were] thirty and two thousand and two hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Manasse, was twee en dertig duisend en tweehonderd.
36
Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Benjamin, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
37
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Benjamin, [were] thirty and five thousand and four hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Benjamin, was vyf en dertig duisend en vierhonderd.
38
Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Dan, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
39
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Dan, [were] threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Dan, was twee en sestig duisend en sewehonderd.
40
Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Aser, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
41
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Asher, [were] forty and one thousand and five hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Aser, was een en veertig duisend en vyfhonderd.
42
Of the children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Van die kinders van Naftali, volgens hulle geslagte, volgens hulle families, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, volgens die getal van die name, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog;
43
Those that were numbered of them, [even] of the tribe of Naphtali, [were] fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
Die wat van hulle getel is, van die stam van Naftali, was drie en vyftig duisend en vierhonderd.
44
These [are] those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, [being] twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
Dit is die wat getel is, wat Moses en Aäron getel het, en die vorste van Israel, twaalf manne: elkeen was vir die huis van sy vaders.
45
So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
So was dan al die wat getel is van die kinders van Israel, volgens die huis van hulle vaders, van twintig jaar oud en daarbo, almal wat in staat was om uit te trek tot die oorlog in Israel;
46
Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
Selfs al die wat getel is, was seshonderd drieduisend vyfhonderd en vyftig.
47
But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
Maar die Leviete na die stam van hulle vaders is nie onder hulle getel nie.
48
For the LORD had spoken unto Moses, saying,
Want die HERE het tot Moses gespreek, en gesê,
49
Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
Net die stam van Levi mag jy nie tel nie, en jy mag hulle som nie neem onder die kinders van Israel nie:
50
But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that [belong] to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
Maar jy moet die Leviete aanstel oor die tabernakel van die getuienis, en oor al die gereedskap daarvan, en oor alles wat daaraan behoort: hulle moet die tabernakel en al die gereedskap daarvan dra, en hulle moet dit bedien, en moet rondom die tabernakel kamp opslaan.
51
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
En wanneer die tabernakel voorttrek, moet die Leviete dit afbreek: en wanneer die tabernakel opgeslaan word, moet die Leviete dit oprig: en die vreemdeling wat nader kom, moet gedood word.
52
And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.
En die kinders van Israel moet elkeen in sy eie kamp, en elkeen by sy eie vaandel, deur hulle leërs kamp opslaan.
53
But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
Maar die Leviete moet rondom die tabernakel van die getuienis kamp opslaan, dat daar geen toorn oor die vergadering van die kinders van Israel mag wees nie: en die Leviete moet die bewaring van die tabernakel van die getuienis waarneem.
54
And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
En die kinders van Israel het gedoen volgens alles wat die HERE Moses beveel het, so het hulle gedoen.
